IElement 4a. Professional Development/Learning Communities:
The school executive ensures that the school is a professional learning community.
As part of the Franklinton Elementary administrative team I participate in and lead grade level PLC's weekly. I lead teachers in discussions related to student data and best practices which lead to increased student achievement. As part of professional development which I provided to all teachers FES implemented school-wide use of SWBAT in order to make learning targets clearer for our students.
Below is a video I used during my PD session, which explains how SWBAT is used in the classroom and the FES PLC instrument used to keep us on track during our weekly meetings. These artifacts demonstrate that I have satisfied the requirements for this standard.

Element 4b. Recruiting, Hiring, Placing and Mentoring Staff:
The school executive establishes processes and systems in order to ensure a high quality performing staff.
As an administrator at FES I have participated in and lead interviews for new staff. I have attended district job fairs in search of qualified teachers and recommended the hiring of one of our kindergarten teachers through the lateral entry process. She has done very well in the classroom and is now working on her certification. I have also interviewed teachers through Participate a cultural exchange program, with which our district is developing a partnership. I conduct frequent walkthroughs in the classrooms of our Beginning Teachers and share best practices and ideas. Through our conversations they have implemented the used of Padlet an engaging online bulletin board to engage their students and the use of SWBAT to better engage students in their learning as well as incorporating flipped classroom strategies which get students moving in the classroom.
Below is a screenshot of the Participate exchange site and a copy of the interview questions I use for prospective teachers. These artifacts demonstrate that I have satisfied the requirements for this standard.

Element 4c. Teacher and Staff Evaluation
The school executive evaluates teachers and other staff in a fair and equitable manner with the focus on improving performance and thus, student achievement.
As part of the Franklinton Elementary School administrative team I conducted daily walkthroughs and was part of the rotation of teacher evaluations. For my walkthroughs I created a PDF document that facilitated the quick recording of my observations which I created from the elements in the district walkthrough tool. I conducted evaluations using the North Carolina Educator Effectiveness System (NCEES).
Below are artifacts showing the FES walkthrough and observation schedules. I have also included a sample of the walkthrough PDF I used for my walkthroughs as well as a sample evaluation. These artifacts demonstrate that I have satisfied the requirements for this standard.
