Standard 6: External Development Leadership
The school executive will design structures and processes that result in community engagement, support, and ownership. Acknowledge that schools no longer reflect but, in fact, build community, the leader proactively creates with staff, opportunities for parent.guardians, community and business representatives to participate as "stockholders" in the school such that continued investment of resources and good will are not left to chance.
Element 6a. Parent and Community Involvement and Outreach: The school executive designs structures and processes which result in parent and community engagement, support and ownership for the school.
As part of the FES team I participated in our beginning of school Open House event and spoke with parents to welcome them to the school and inform them how they could best assist their FES student. I provided parents with at-a-glance information, which answered some basic questions about their child's education. I participated in events like our Fall Festival which brought out parents and students as well as other stakeholders in the community to engage in a time of fun and getting to know each other as well as raise funds for our PTA. Our annual Christmas musical is also a big draw for the community and I was informed by many parents that this years turn out was the largest they had ever experienced.

Element 6b. Federal, State and District Mandates: The school executive designs protocols and processes in order to comply with federal, state, and district mandates.
As an FES administrator I am a member of the Crisis Management Team and participate in monthly fire drills, lock down drills and other safety drills as mandated by Franklin County.

I have also included a screenshot of communication with district representative regarding drill completion dates. These artifacts demonstrate that I have satisfied the requirements for this standard.
